How about a marathon along Vietnam’s pristine beaches?

There’s a new marathon on the horizon and it will be in central Vietnam’s Lang Co, best known for it’s stretches of untouched beaches and powdery sand.

Organized by sister resorts Banyan Tree Lang Co and Angsana Lang Co, there will be a full and half marathon for serious runners, as well as 10km, 5km and 2km options for those who prefer leisurely runs. The longer routes even pass through local villages, water buffalos in rice fields, misty mountain peaks and, of course, unspoiled beaches.

The marathon will take place on Oct 24-25, which means you’ve still got a good six months to train for it. Plus, when you sign up before Aug 31, you’ll get early bird rates that start at US$6 ($8) for a 2km run and go up to US$80 ($106) for a full marathon. To register, go here

Oh and if you decide to check into Angsana Lang Co or Banyan Tree Lang Co over the marathon weekend, you’ll shave 20% off your hotel bill if you book by May 31, 2015 or 15% off if you book before July 2015
