An art-lover’s staycation: Hotel Clover The Arts open in March

The new art-themed boutique hotel in Chinatown, Hotel Clover The Arts, is slated to open in March, aiming to give guests a unique art experience in each of the individual, creatively designed rooms.

Styles span retro kitsch and urban street art to pop art vibrance and line art minimalism, with subjects ranging from mountainscapes to comic art. Others reflect Singapore’s evolving urban and cultural landscapes, and also pay tribute to the hotel’s symbol, a four-leafed clover that represents faith, love, hope and luck.

To give the space a unique identity, the hotel invited students from art and design schools in Singapore to take part in a competition to create murals for 19 of the rooms.

Wang Zeya, Chairman of Hotel Clover The Arts says: “The hotel hopes to not only offer a platform for these talented artists, but also to create a truly unique arts experience for all visitors.”

Meanwhile independent professional artists were commissioned, including artists from Life Art Society and the local artist Ceno2 who founded the creative art collective Artkhalytis.

Ceno2 says: “By crafting the most iconic Singapore attractions onto public spaces like the lobby and the external façade of the hotel, the idea is to create a talking point to encourage guests and staff to mingle.”

Double rooms start at $235 per night.
