Berlin is Scoot’s second European destination

There’s much to pine for if you’ve got wanderlust for Europe, and Berlin is no exception. Besides its history, Germany’s capital is awash with a bustling contemporary and modern art scene, culture, notorious parties and nightclubs and an unparalleled amount of abandoned or ruined places for the urban explorers. It’s no wonder Berlin has been designated a “City of Design” by UNESCO back in 2006, and is included in UNESCO’s Creative Cities network. All of that is about to become a lot more accessible when Scoot launches direct flights between Singapore and the German metropolitan in the second half of 2018.

This will make the low-cost airline’s third long-haul destination; with Athens being launched earlier this year and the upcoming Honolulu route, which will be their first foray into the U.S. The recent merger with Tigerair has helped the airline strengthen their position in the industry to launch and sustain long-haul flights like this.

The new flights will depart Singapore four times weekly on their fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners, but it’s still subject to regulatory approval at the moment. With this new destination, it’ll be SIA Group’s fourth destination in Germany, after Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich on SIA.
