To celebrate Australia Day (Jan 26), British Airways is rolling out cheaper fares to Sydney from $676 for economy class to $1,373 in premium economy fares. You can book your flights from now will Feb 2 and set off before June 30.
If you’d like to inject some arts and culture into your itinerary, there’s the Vivid Sydney Festival to check out from May 27 to June 13. One of the highlights is the lightshow where artwork is projected onto the facade of the Sydney Opera House. Although the line-up hasn’t been finalized this year, previous years have included London-based creative team 59 Productions projecting their work onto the Sydney Opera House, bands like the electronic duo The Presets, Sufjan Stevens and USA jazz group, Bad Plus performing, and talks by big deal designer Stefan Sagmeister (of agency Sagmeister and Walsh) and Emmy award winning writer Matthew Weiner (creator of Mad Men).
