Buri Rasa Village Phangan named Best New Luxury Hotel in Asia

The stunning resort Buri Rasa Village on the Thai island of Koh Phangan has been named The Best New Luxury Hotel in Asia at The World Luxury Hotel Awards 2013.

The awards, which were established to showcase outstanding properties in the luxury hotel industry, are voted for by tour operators, travel agents and hotel guests. At this year’s event over 1000 hotels from 87 different countries took part.

Buri Rasa Village Phangan first opened at the beginning of 2013. The island is most well-known for its renowned full moon parties. Over on the northeast coast, however, you’ll see a different side to the island.

Along the secluded white sand beach of Thong Nai Pan Noi, looking out onto turquoise seas and among the palm trees, this retreat offers an entirely different experience.

Within the resort guests can make use of the pool, spa and fitness center, and if they venture out activities include scuba diving, snorkelling, hiking along trails to waterfalls and elephant trekking.

The resort’s Beach Club Restaurant serves up authentic Thai, BBQ and western cuisine that uses local ingredients with modern techniques. Buri Rasa Village Square meanwhile is a cobbled enclave for souvenir shopping or a glass of wine in the evening.

Room rates start from THB6,000 ($235) per night.
