The northeastern province of Henan’s ultra-modern Yanling Jianye The Mist Hot Spring Hotel is designed by Thailand’s own Department of Architecture (TCDC, The Commons).

While the hotel takes its name from the mist that rises off the property’s two large hot springs, just as mood-enriching is the all-glass exterior that constantly changes in color. Inside, the 51 guest rooms and suites (from $500/night) are decked out in a calming blend of neutral creamy colors and blond-wood furniture.

This vibe extends throughout the hotel, which is packed with spa treatment rooms, hot stone beds and over 20 private hot spring baths in which to soak and de-stress.

The nearest airport is Zhengzhou Xinzheng, 54km away, from which Bangkok is a three-hour flight.
