This year, head off the beaten track and cycle your way through Mongolia

Adventure seekers, time to get into tip top condition for this epic nine-day tour around Mongolia’s earthy terrains with plenty of cycling, trekking and horse riding to be done.

Spice Roads’ new cycling tour includes tons of off-road activities on dirt trails peppered with short steep climbs and long downhill stretches bound to thrill cycling enthusiasts. Also on the itinerary is trekking up the 2,656-meter Altan Olgii Mountain and a horse ride through the scenic countryside and its gushing rivers. Don’t worry, there’ll be a local riding guide to keep you safe but even so, this trip is still designed for fit and confident riders.

The entire tour covers 218 kilometers and along the way, you’ll also get a chance to sample horse milk and cheese, chat up locals and spend nights in tented camps under a blanket of stars.

This tour costs US$2,250 ($2,979) and includes bike hire, meals, accommodation and a guide. Tour dates are set for Jun 7 and and Sept 6 next year so that still leaves you with some time to get into shape. Feeling up for the challenge? Head here to sign up.
