Here’s a reason to visit Vietnam at the end of the year: the inaugural Vietnam International Fashion Week will be held in early December (the exact date has yet to be confirmed) in Ho Chi Minh City.
Details are still scanty, but you can expect to be wowed by around 20 international designers in 20 fashion shows. Plus, there’ll also be seminars and exchanges between designers and experts. There are some big names throwing their weight behind it, too, so we have hope it’ll be a good show. Singapore-based FIDé Fashion Weeks (the brains behind some of the region’s best fashion weeks, such as French Couture Week and Men’s Fashion Week) is involved, as is Le Thi Quynh Trang, Executive Producer of Project Runway Vietnam and Vietnam’s Next Top Model).
Ho Chi Minh wowed us on our last trip with all its arty cred, so we’re not exactly surprised that the aesthetically-inclined city is gearing up for this fashion milestone. If you’re going, hop on an affordably priced VietJet flight (around $156 upwards for a round-trip itinerary), which plies the Singapore—Ho Chi Minh route daily. Visit the FIDé Fashion Weeks page for more info on the fashion week.
