The first beach club resort on Khao Lak, Thailand, is an Instagram dream

La Vela Khao Lak is the first beach club hotel on the serene stretch of Bang Niang Beach, Khao Lak, which is only an hour’s drive north of Phuket International Airport.

Named after the Vela constellation (Latin for the sails of a ship), the 181-room resort features a heavily geometric design courtesy of TROP: terrains + open space, whose credits include Casa de la Flora, Botanica Khao Yai and Veranda Pattaya. Along with a backdrop that will rock your Instagram feed, most rooms also come with a bath or outdoor jacuzzi, as well as a grand seven-foot bed.

Other on-site facilities include Kokulo Beach Club which features all-day live DJs, Spa QaQula which comprises five treatment rooms offering massages and restorative therapies, a picture-perfect, free-form pool and natural landscaping.

The sunset is not to be missed, with the large mirrors of the exterior reflecting the views.

A special opening promotion sees rates start at only $107/night for a deluxe poolside room, up to $178 for the pool access grand room, inclusive of breakfast for two guests. Bookings must be made by May 31, applicable for stays through Sep 30. Stay three consecutive nights and you’ll also receive $48 extra credit for food and beverages.
