This year’s edition of Great Outdoors Hong Kong will run from now until 21 February 2014, encouraging travellers to get back to nature and discover a different side to the island.
During this period, guided hiking and cycling tours will take place each weekend. The best way to make the most of your time is to pick up a Great Outdoors Hong Kong activity guide, available from visitor centers and hotels, which covers trails and itineraries that you can take-on independently, as well as information on the organised guided tours.
Guided hiking tours include the six-hour award winning Dragon’s Back hike, HK$200 ($32), with panoramic views of Shek O, Tai Long Wan, Stanley, Tai Tum and the South China Sea (28 December), while cycling tours include a three-hour ride, HK$100 ($16), along the Tolo Harbour cycling track, passing mountain and coastal scenery, from Shing Mun River to Tai Po Waterfront Park (20 December, 24 January and 21 February).
