Instead of drinking yourself into oblivion this holiday season, do something healthy and cultural at the same time. The Chain Reaction Project is hosting an Angkor Wat half-marathon to raise awareness about human trafficking.
From Dec 6-8, book yourself a three-day trip to Cambodia’s Angkor Wat region ($800) and participate in the half-marathon (that’s only 21km, guys) to raise a combined $40,000 for education schemes and employment programs to help stop human trafficking. The marathon will take place during the twilight hours at the famed Hindu temple where you’ll run alongside ancient arches and centuries-old banyan trees.
The trip also has a visit to the Tonle Sap Lake where you’ll get to hear success stories of underprivileged youths enrolled in the free Sala Bai hospitality training program.
