Literary types it’s time to start planning your next trip as next month sees the Jaipur Literature Festival (Jan 21-25) taking place in the culturally rich capital of the northern region of Rajasthan. The eight edition looks particularly impressive with 181 confirmed speakers from all across the world descending on the city for the four-day festival, including poets, playwrights, filmmakers, novelists, economists and historians. Among them are acclaimed travel writer Paul Theroux, British theater director Tim Supple, Man Booker Prize winner Eleanor Catton, best selling thriller writer Ashwin Sanghi and celebrated British poet and great-great-grand daughter of Charles Darwin, Ruth Padel. Set to take place at the gorgeous Diggi Palace in the Pink City, it looks like being something of a literary tour de force and the best bit about it is it’s all free.
