Hilton’s first Indian leisure property Hilton Shillim Estate Retreat & Spa now open

Hilton Shillim Estate Retreat & Spa, the Hilton Group’s first leisure property in India, has just opened at the Sahyadri mountain range in the Western Ghats (a two-and-a-half-hour drive and 30-minute helicopter ride from Mumbai). Rates start at INR7,500 (S$172).

The expansive property spans 320 acres at the private Shillim Estate—with pretty rice fields and bamboo plantations—and features 99 villas. Alongside butler service, the place has one of the largest wine cellars in India and comprehensive spa facilities including more than 150 treatments.

The getaway has six on-premise food and beverage outlets focusing on organic and locally-sourced produce. Unique dining experiences are also on offer including the Chef’s Table, a private dinner by a waterfall.

Another highlight of the retreat is Shillim Spa featuring a yoga pavilion, meditation cave, spa cuisine restaurant, outdoor heated pool, conventional and infrared saunas as well as hydrotherapy tubs. Acupressure, naturopathy, reiki, shamanism therapy and fire healing are among the treatments on offer.

Also available are cooking, dance, music and pottery workshops plus treks, picnics, mountain-biking, horse-riding, fishing and excursions to the nearby Maratha forts and Buddhist rock caves at Karla and Bhaja.
