Indonesia’s first Aloft hotel is the place to be for live local music

Marriott’s first Aloft-branded hotel in Indonesia, Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim, is set to bring much-needed vibrancy to the city, especially for music lovers.

The brand is known for being a platform for local emerging bands by turning its communal lobby area—where the hotel’s signature W XYZ Bar and pool table also reside—into a open social space for locals and tourists alike. At the bar, be sure to get a 45 Bullet, a locally-inspired cocktail that has kencur in it, or try the Milky Cigrass mocktail made using oranges from West Borneo, lemongrass, homemade cinnamon syrup and fresh milk.

The 180-room hotel is big on design as well, with murals by prominent Indonesian artists being featured in guest rooms and public spaces. In-room, expect Aloft’s usual plush beds, amenities from Bliss Spa, free Wi-Fi and flat screen TVs.

When hungry, head to Nook for authentic Indonesian favorites like Ayam Bakar Seruni (grilled marinated chicken with coriander sweet soya reduction, chili relish and vegetables) as well as a selection of international cuisine. Or just grab and go at Re:fuel, another Aloft signature, that offers light meals, snacks and beverages 24/7.

Those who wish to maintain their workout routine can do so at the re:charge fitness center, or enjoy a refreshing dip in the outdoor Splash pool. Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim is located in the Indonesian capital’s bustling central core, and a short distance from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
