Jetstar wants to give your parents free flights

Mother’s Day (May 14) and Father’s Day (June 18) are fast approaching, and budget carrier Jetstar is planning ahead for you by offering what they call the “Parents Fly Free” promotion that goes on from Apr 6-10.

We’ll just call it as it is however, as a 1-for-1 deal, as that is what it technically is. For every booking of two passengers traveling together, a starter Economy fare will apply to the first passenger, while the second passenger pays only taxes and fees. It’s not like they will actually check if the person traveling with you is your parent (will they?).

But hey, we’re not complaining, as a total of 21 destinations will be on sale with fares starting from as low as $70 all-inclusive for two people traveling together to Kuala Lumpur. Bangkok costs only $95, Bali $113, Taipei $153, and the most expensive is Melbourne, still at a steal at only $293.

If, unlike us, you’re filial and actually want to bring your parents on a holiday, check out Jetstar’s promo video below, which tells you why your folks deserve a well-earned break.
