KL gets a hip new lifestyle enclave

Looks like it’s an exciting year for KL’s entertainment and nightlife scene. 2015 will see the birth of Trec (it stands for Taste, Relish, Experience, Celebrate), Kuala Lumpur’s largest lifestyle enclave.

For starters, it will be superclub Zouk KL’s new home come Mar 2015. Occupying a floor space of 60,000sq ft, this RM38 million ($14.8 million) nightspot will be the country’s most expensive club ever built and will consist of five nightclubs, a VIP bar lounge, a member’s lounge, a café and a rooftop deck.

Trec spans seven acres and sits across Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), the new financial hub of KL and is divided into five zones: Zouk KL, Electric Boulevard, The Hive, Alcove and The Terraces. These five zones will be completed in phases, with Zouk KL and Electric Boulevard slated for the first quarter of next year while the remaining zones are scheduled for the third quarter.

Mega clubs aside, there are also plenty of food and drink options ranging from casual to fine dining, indie cafes, wine bars, pubs and lounges. Plus, there are also live music options and 10 rooftop garden spaces. For more info, go here
