Koh Samui is getting a new arts and music festival this Songkran

Suffering Wonderfruit withdrawals? This could be the island answer this Songkran. Koh Samui’s Chaweng Noi Beach will welcome a new two-day arts and music event dubbed Paradise Island Festival on Apr 15-16.

Organized by Soundcrash, the UK-based party organizers known for events such as Croatia’s Soundwave Festival, the festival promises a lineup of both international and local artists like the 90s legends The Pharcyde and British electronic producer Krafty Kuts. Other acts confirmed are drum ‘n’ bass pioneer Goldie, LTJ Bukem, Maribou State and DJ Kentaro, joined by Bangkok talents The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band, Unda and the Dope As Funk crew, DJ Dragon, DJ Orawan, High Time and Jam on Toast.

Alongside the music, organizers promise a variety of art workshops and classes covering Thai performance art, traditional art, yoga and Thai Chi classes, massage, cooking and more. The festival also aims to be a more eco-friendly alternative to the notorious Full Moon parties, with organizers also working closely with the community on reforestation projects.

Tickets are $120, and available now on Peatix. Find out more from their website here. Several airlines fly between Singapore and Koh Samui. Flights start at $615 on Malaysia Airlines and $632 on Singapore Airlines if you leave around end of March.
