Marriott’s “lower-cost” hotel chain opens in Bali

Located in the beachfront town of Legian, Fairfield by Marriott Bali Legian sits just a brief hop away from Seminyak, Bali’s hi-so hub of upscale resorts, shops and restaurants.

Much like Marriott International’s Moxy brand, Fairfield is a low-cost chain (rates start at about $58/night) that doesn’t take any shortcuts in terms of design. Wood accents and a neutral brown palette give rooms a soothing feel, perfect for curling up after too much time in the sun.

Save yourself the burn with one of the umbrella-shaded daybeds beside the pool, where a bar whips out cocktails and tasty tapas treats. Tebu Merah restaurant does Balinese fare that goes easy on the calories without compromising on flavors.

The hidden catch to this bargain? The hotel’s all of 20 minutes’ walk from the white sands of Legian Beach.
