For watersports devotees, a new luxury retreat, Centara Grand Azuri Resort & Spa, opened this month in Haute Rive, on the northeast coast of Mauritius.
This five-star property is located at the 420-acre Azuri Oceanfront Village, where in addition to residence and retail outlets, a range of sports and marine services are on offer, with a lagoon for swimming and watersports.
In fact, non-motorized watersports are free of charge, letting guests try out windsurfing, snorkelling, kayaking and sailing, as well as taking out the catamarans and glass-bottom boats.
On land, there’s an adventure center with rock climbing, archery and cycling trails, among other energetic options.
After all the exertion, take time to relax at Spa Cenvaree, or by one of the resort’s two swimming pools.
To refuel, Le Comptoir restaurant serves a buffet of local Mauritius and eclectic Asian fare, while Lazulli hosts beach BBQs for al fresco dining.
Rates are from USD396 ($501).
