The new boutique hotel AMOY opened earlier this month in the conservation enclave Far East Square, paying homage to Singapore’s past.
This is the island’s first hotel to incorporate a museum, giving you an insight into the history of early immigrants from China. From the street you enter through the former temple and headquarters of the 1800’s Hakka and Cantonese communities, Fuk Tak Chi.
The hotel’s distinctive interior fuses contemporary design with heritage features in its 37 rooms for a unique hotel experience. AMOY is also well located, near Raffles place and just across the road from the new mrt station Telok Ayer.
Opening rates are $218 for the cozy single room and $268 for the deluxe double room, valid for stays until 9 February 2014.
