This new Singapore start-up does affordable, personalized adventures

The latest local travel company worth investigating is Chickenfeet Travels. Launched three months ago, this bespoke travel operator specializes in trips around Southeast Asia, with itineraries that involve trekking, diving and animal sighting, in places like Cambodia, Laos and Indonesia.

Founder Junxiu Lu told us that he traveled around the region in search of off-the-beaten-path places and activities. The itineraries on their website now include a four-day trek to Sumatra’s Gunung Kerinci through tea plantations and wetlands ($492 per person) and a three-day homestay outside Chiang Mai involving hanging out with elephants and the Kayan hilltribe ($472 per person. Prices exclude flights and insurance.

Trips range from weekend getaways to week-long adventures, though you can also get in touch for a more customized itinerary. More information here.
