Phuket King’s Cup Regatta Returns December

The annual Phuket King’s Cup Regatta returns this year for its 27th edition of sailboat racing in the Andaman Sea. The regatta, which takes place from Dec 1 to Dec 6, will begin with an opening event and party at Kata Beach Resort & Spa on the Thai island.

The racing then begins on Dec 2, with daily racing and revelries from then on, while on Dec 5 in celebration of HM the King’s birthday, 100 sailboats are expected to participate in a parade. The event closes on Dec 6 with an award ceremony and closing party.

Even if you’re not interested in the racing, the regatta is a good excuse to check out the daily prize-giving beachside parties.
