A piece of colonial luxury for your next trip to Vietnam

Located south of the more popular Nha Trang, Cam Ranh has finally landed itself a grand Indochine-inspired, five-star resort, which just opened a couple of weeks back. Only a 15-minute drive away from Cam Ranh International Airport, The Anam (Long Beach, Northern Peninsula Cam Ranh) blends colonial luxury with traditional Vietnamese aesthetics—think Hue-style roofs, glowing lanterns, French mosaic tiles and stone pathways—throughout its 117 villas and 96 hotel rooms, ranging in size from 50-267 sq meters.

In addition to having one of the best private beaches in the area (stretching for 300 meters), The Anam also features a stunning infinity pool and tonnes of water activities offered on-site, from beach volleyball and sunrise yoga to water sports like surfing, bodyboarding and snorkeling.

Sneak in a little bit of pampering time at the elegant Siri Mara Spa, equipped with VIP rooms designed for couples to indulge in the resort’s specialized Balinese treatments—or stay at the private pool villa for a super private spa rejuvenation without having to leave your room.

At the moment, rooms start from $283.80/night for the Balcony Garden View Room and go up to $1135.40/night for the three-bedroom Anam Ocean View Pool Villa.

In 2015, the Vietnamese military returned Bai Dai Beach to civilians in an effort to promote tourism in Khanh Hoa and Cam Ranh. Note that the region enjoys 300 days of sunshine in a year (the rainy season is roughly around Oct-Jan), so you’re unlikely to hit bad weather.

There are several flights that fly to Cam Ranh International Airport, but with a stopover in Ho Chi Minh City. Tickets on Jetstar through HCM start from $260, and $316 on Vietnam Airlines.
