One of the best times to visit South Korea is spring. And, if you’re the sporty type, it’s great weather to explore the city on foot. We’ve rounded up four upcoming marathons that you can sign up for.

Seoul International Marathon, Mar 15
This popular annual marathon first started in 1931 and has been attracting runners from all over the world. For runners taking part in the full marathon, the flag off will be at the iconic Gwanghwamun Square and finishing at the Jamsil Olympic main stadium. Registration: 40,000won ($49) for 10km, 50,000won ($49) for full marathon.

Daegu International Marathon, Apr 6
Held in the fourth largest city in South Korea, this run will see you passing plenty of historical and cultural sights like the Daegu Tangible culture street, Gwang-Seok Kim street and finishing at the heart of the city in the Gukchaebosang Memorial Park. Registration: 30,000won ($37) for 10km, 40,000won ($49) for full marathon.

Gyeongju Cherry Marathon, Apr 4
Taking place at the height of the cherry blossom bloom in this scenic coastal town, this is one marathon that always manages to draw in the crowds. Plus, it helps that there are 5km courses catering to the less hardcore runners.
Registration: 20,000won ($24) for 5km, 30,000won ($37) for 10km, half and full marathon.

Chucheon International Marathon, Mar 15
This run is set in the city of Chucheon, which is known for its natural beauty and serene lakes. The route involves running along the peaceful Uiamho lake and the picturesque Samaksan Mountain. You’ll also be running for a good cause too; part of their proceeds go towards a charity that helps children with incurable diseases.
Registration: 40,000won ($49) for 10km and full marathon.
