SilkAir has just announced a new non-stop service between Singapore and Hiroshima, which will begin operations starting Oct 30.
There will be three weekly flights departing Singapore at 1:45am on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and will arrive at 9:30am (local time). The return flights will leave at 10:25am on the same three days. This service will be operated with the airline’s fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircrafts, and will become the sixth Japanese citiy SilkAir flies to.
Hiroshima is no Tokyo, but it is still rife with history and culture, dating back to as early as the 16th century, during the Sengoku period. While the city became known worldwide on Aug 6, 1945, Hiroshima has also become one of Japan’s three main sake-producing cities, with about 50 different sake brewers to boot. Take a trip to Hiroshima and try the city’s unique sake at their well-known sake town of Saijo. Otherwise, there’s always the city’s most famous dish, their own rendition of Okonomiyaki, which is similar to the original Osaka-styled ones save for the addition of noodles.
