Singapore Airlines is finally rolling out premium economy class, with its first flight planned for Aug 9. Our national carrier joins the likes of Cathay Pacific, British Airways and Qantas. Premium economy means wider seats, priority check-in and 35kg baggage allowance.
Expect to kick back in leather-clad seats that come with padded calf-rest, foot bar and also reclines two more inches than in economy class. There will also be in-seat power supply, two USB ports and more stowage space.
Plus, you’ll also find noise-canceling headphones and have more meal options to pick from. Oh and did we mention, you’ll also get served Champagne. While you won’t have to fork out as much as you would for business class, expect to pay 15-40% more than economy class.
Premium economy class will first be introduced to flights from Singapore to Sydney then progressively to citites like Delhi, Hong Kong, Beijing, London, Tokyo and Zurich in late 2015. Head here to book your tickets.
