Film festival Tropfest will hit Penang in January 2014 featuring short films centred on the theme of rice.
The event started in Australia 20 years ago—attracting tens of thousands of people and big-name stars—and the latest edition marks its debut in Southeast Asia.
If you’re an aspiring film maker, the deadline for film submissions is October 28. Entry to the short film competition is open to citizens of Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, The Philippines and Vietnam. The entry fee is RM50 (S$20) per film.
