Stunning new resort Dhensa Punakha set to open in Bhutan

The new luxury brand Dhensa Boutique Resorts is set to open their first property Dhensa Punakha in Bhutan this March.

The 24-suite resort is situated in the lush Punakha Valley, surrounded by pine forest and overlooking the Punakha river and valley’s terraced paddy fields.

The property itself fuses contemporary design with Bhutanese tradition, incorporating six cottages with private balconies, a reading lounge, Dhensa Spa cottage and a dining room serving up Bhutanese, Asian and Western cuisine that uses seasonal, local and organic produce.

At Dhensa Spa guests can make the most of the yoga, sauna and steam room, as well as spa treatments that are on offer, and lie back in the outdoor wood-fired bath.

Room rates are from US$350 ($444) per night.
