Budget airline Tigerair has introduced new direct flights from Singapore to Ningbo in China, to commence from December 26, with three flights each fortnight. This is the first airline to provide direct flights to the port town and will offer promotional fares starting at $99.
From the seaport’s location in the Northeast of Zhejiang province, the city is a great base for further exploration with easy access to Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Wenzhou and Nanjing.
Just a ferry-ride away from Ningbo is China’s largest archipelago, Zhoushan, consisting of 1,390 islands, including Taohua, also known as Peach Blossom Island, a botanically lush and extremely picturesque island that is a popular site for filming movies and TV series. The islands also hold notable historical sites and Mount Putuo, one of the four sacred mountains in Chinese Buddhism.
