You won’t have to fly all the way to Denmark to sample René Redzepi’s much lauded cuisine. The Danish chef’s two Michelin-starred restaurant Noma, ranked as the #1 restaurant on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, will be housed at Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo from January 9 to 31 next year—granted, that’s still a plane ride away, but it’s alot more accessible than Scandinavia.
Reservations for lunch can be made online via Noma’s website, though (whaddya expect) it’ll cost a pretty penny at JPY39,000 (S$480). Want a table for dinner instead? You’ll have to book the “Noma at Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo” accommodation package (a cool JPY149,500 or $1,842 for two) via the hotel’s website, which includes a one-night stay in a Mandarin Grand Room, dinner at Noma, complimentary breakfast and a special commemorative gift.
Various carriers including Singapore Airlines, ANA and Jetstar ply the route, and we’d say book soon to score some cheap flights.
