Japanese artist and writer Yayoi Kusama has just revealed her mammoth five-story museum in Tokyo’s bustling Shinjuku neighborhood.
The Yayoi Kusuma Museum is designed to showcase some of the most beloved pieces from her astounding 70-year career.
It’s not just Kusama classics here, either; you can also get a glimpse into the 87-year-old artist’s mind on the fifth floor, which houses a special library packed with materials and documents that have inspired her work over the years.
The museum opens to the public this October, and its inaugural exhibition, titled Creation Is a Solitary Pursuit, Love Is What Brings You Closer to Art, features a recent series of paintings from Kusama.
Admission is about $12 for adults, and you can catch the showcase until Feb 25. The exhibitions will change twice a year.
