ZUJI poll findings on Singapore’s romantic travel inclinations

Yesterday, online travel bookers ZUJI announced the findings of its quarterly survey ZUJI-dex, giving an insight into the romantic travel inclinations of Singapore-based travelers, based on a travel trivia poll and their online bookings.

Topping romantic destinations for travelers to ‘renew their love’ is, unsurprisingly, The Maldives with 42% of the votes, but Japan came in second at 23%.

When asked about the world’s most romantic nationalities, 18% of the men thought Thai women were the most romantic, while the women ranked the French and Italians as the most romantic nationality with Maldivian men coming in third.

The findings show that one in three men here have been involved in a travel romance, whereas just one in five women can say the same. Two in three of the male travelers admit to being more romantic on holiday. The most popular place to start a travel romance is France.

Of the travelers that have had a holiday romance, nearly a quarter ended up getting married to them, and those looking for romance on holiday will be happy to know that 91% of those that had holiday romances were not heart broken.

Finally, when asked about the most romantic trips from Singapore, 58% voted for a trip to Europe and 39% considered staying at a private beach villa that you never leave as the most romantic holiday option.
