Amid the doom and gloom in Singapore, events and gatherings of all kinds are being postponed or cancelled. The novel coronavirus scare is real, and we don’t blame organisers if they feel that’s the way to go.
But life goes on, and in a much-welcomed nudge towards normalcy, we have word directly from the horse’s mouth that annual feel-good music festival Garden Beats will definitely be happening. So if you’ve been anticipating a rocking good time with Foals since you bought your tickets months ago, you’re not about to be disappointed.
Remember that Garden Beats isn’t all about the music either. The arts and wellness components—from yoga classes to healthy eats—will do your mind and body good, and that’s all part of staying strong and living life to the fullest.
Still, the people behind Garden Beats know how genuinely difficult it must be for some to attend the festival given the current Covid-19 situation (and also because of cancellations by Sabrina Claudio and Blond:ish). They are thus allowing full ticket refunds and transfers—no questions asked.
For refunds, email [email protected] by Feb 21 to receive instructions on the process. For transfers, the pre-registration link that’ll be sent out to all ticket-buyers via email one week before the festival will allow for it.
And in a move to ease attendance fears, several measures will also be taking place. For one, Hygiene Hub stations will be erected across the festival grounds. Sure to be the bane of any viruses, find anti-bacterial wipes, anti-bacterial foam and hygienic waste disposal cans at these stations. Use them freely.
A temperature-measuring station will also be put up at the entrance. Every festival-goer will have their temperature measured prior to entering festival grounds. And as always, a stationed ambulance, first-aid tents and trained medical officers will be on standby throughout the festival.
But please, if you are unwell, do everyone a solid and stay home (also go see a doctor) for the safety of others and your own health. Spread the good vibes, not the virus.
