Linkin Park fans all around the globe suffered a tremendous loss when singer Chester Bennington took his own life last year. While it happened 11 months ago, it’s still a loss that many people are still trying to get over, seeing how much their music influenced them during their formative years. Nonetheless, life has to go on. For co-lead vocalist Mike Shinoda, that means going on tour. He’ll be performing in Singapore at Zepp @ Big Box on Aug 22 as part of his “Post Traumatic” tour.
“I’m looking forward to getting back to releasing music and touring, those things are ‘normal’ to me—it’s what my professional life has revolved around for years, And I know this will be different, so I’m excited to figure out what this new normal is,” Shinoda said in a press statement.
Remember Fort Minor? Yeah, that was Shinoda’s first solo project all the way back in 2005. Showcasing the hip-hop side of his artistry, he released the debut album The Rising Tied, which spawned hits like “Remember the Name” and “Where’d You Go”. However, he put the project on hold indefinitely to focus on Linkin Park. We’re not sure if we can expect anything new from Fort Minor, but in the wake up Bennington’s passing, Shinoda locked himself up in his LA home to immerse himself in art, songwriting, recording and even painting, which led to the creation of the deeply personal three-track Post Traumatic EP last January. The full record of the same name will be launched on Jun 15.
