Bob Dylan, one of the most influential musicians of our generation, will be hitting our shores on Aug 6 to perform at The Star Theatre as part of his Asia Tour.
He was last here seven years ago when he played at Timbre’s Rock & Roots and has since been busy raking up numerous accolades for himself, like he always has throughout his career. Awards include the Presidential Medal of Freedom from former President Barack Obama in May 2012 and the Nobel Prize in Literature “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition” in 2016.
The 76-year-old has dabbled in a wide variety of genres, from folk and blues to gospel and country, rockabilly to folk music; and made them his own. But music aside, his songwriting has itself been instrumental to his success all these years, penning songs like “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”, “Like a Rolling Stone”, the politically charged “The Times They Are a-Changin'” and so many more. He still regularly releases new material till this day.
Tickets are priced from $128 and will be available via Apac Tix from May 14, 10am.
