It seems like American pop rock quintet OneRepublic just can’t seem to get enough of Singapore. They’ll be back to perform at The Star Theatre on Apr 23, just months after headlining Day 1 of 2017’s Singapore Grand Prix.
The band has grown well beyond its Myspace days back in 2002. Starting out with small shows in the City of Angels, they quickly earned eyeballs from numerous record labels, but ultimately went with Velvet Hammer. Their debut record Dreaming Out Loud spawned hits like “Apologize” (which was remixed by Timbaland and even went on to earn them their first Grammy nomination), “Stop and “Stare” and the heartbreaking “Come Home”, which was featured on TV serials like Gossip Girl and The Vampire Diaries. Then their sophomore album Waking Up gave us tracks that everyone memorized the lyrics to, like “All the Right Moves” which went on to be certified Platinum twice, and “Secrets”, most memorable in that tesla coil scene in the 20 2010 sci-fi fantasy flick The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
Now armed with a total of four albums, audiences both old and new will definitely have something to sing along to. Ticket prices are reported to be from $88-268, and will be available from 10am-11:59pm on Jan 25 for Live Nation members (register here to be on their newsletter mailing list before 3pm, Jan 24 to get access);and from 10am, Jan 26 for the public via Apac Tix.
