Aqua’s gig would’ve happened this weekend, if not for the fact they decided to cancel “due to unforeseen circumstances”. Bad ticket sales, perhaps? On that note, we’re also bummed that we won’t be able to catch Australian psychedelic rockers Pond (they were so good at the most recent Clockenflap in Hong Kong!) since they too cancelled. But fret not, there’s still much to do this weekend. For the first time, Singapore International Film Festival presents Midnight Mayhem, a segment that will showcase four international horror films. Kicking it off is It Comes At Night, a film that follows a family who finds solace in a new home set in a post-apocalyptic future after an unknown cataclysm. Other films here. Nov 24

While bubblegum pop might be the path that most Korean artists go down, South Korean outfit Hyukoh has found success in another scene. Just barely three years old, they’ve risen through the ranks and stirred up the Korean indie scene, earning them the title “Band of the New Generation”. Nov 24

Our favorite drag queens The Glory Hoes continue their queer film series with a classic—1995’s Clueless. Expect a ‘90s style cafeteria makeover at The Projector bar, which will serve cocktails and food, before you head in for a special screening of ‘90s teen icons Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd and Brittany Murphy (RIP); DJ Bobby Luo spins a set of ‘90s jams after. Organized by Enterprise Sports Group, Run for Beer 2017 is Singapore’s first and largest beer running event. The race is a winding 3.2km that takes you through the best of Singapore’s landmarks, including the Raffles Landing Site, Boat Quay and Cavenagh Bridge—before ending back at Clarke Quay, no less, for a well-deserved beer.
