The coming of the end of the year is one giant conspiracy—to get you to spend more and stock up for the festivities ahead. But if that translates into more food markets, art bazaars and even a gardening market, we’re not complaining. Here’s what’s happening.
Rising50 Design Bazaar (Nov 3-5)
Did you know 2017 is the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Singapore? To celebrate, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia and DesignSingapore Council are organizing a three-day bazaar. The Rising50 Design Bazaar will showcase more than 20 brands from Singapore and Indonesia, and hawk everything from contemporary batik wear to modern homeware and artisan jewellery. Household Indonesian F&B brands like Teh Botol will also be present should you get thirsty or peckish.

Farmers Market at Loewen Gardens (Nov 4)
The trusty Farmers Market at Loewen Gardens is back this first Saturday of November, with a good mix of organic vegetables, bread, wine, olive oil and fresh honey on sale. This month, look out for an international selection of eats—like organic vegetables from Java, pomegranate molasses and vegetable crackers from Lebanon, and quality BBQ meat from Australia.

Local Lingo/Tingkat Party (Nov 4-5)
Markets extraordinaire The Local People want to turn Chinatown Food Street into an indie art and food market this November. The main highlight of the event is food, obviously, but a bunch of craft-makers and local entrepreneurs will also be setting up shop alongside the F&B vendors and Chinatown hawkers to sell stickers, customized accessories and handmade trinkets.

Cedele Marketplace 2017 (Nov 5)
Good things come to those who wait; and the year-long wait for the hotly anticipated Cedele food market is finally over. Back in its third edition, Cedele Marketplace will bring to The Star Vista an extensive spread of fresh produce, dry goods, pastries and bread—plus exclusive discounts when you buy in bulk. Stocking up for the festive season can be a wholesome affair too.

GreenUrbanScape Asia Marketplace (Nov 9-11)
If you fancy yourself as having green thumbs, save your dollars for this marketplace organized by GreenUrbanScape Asia. The international exhibition and conference will once again spotlight landscape, greenery design, construction and technology, and bring in 50 popular gardening vendors like Asano Mokkou-Sho Co., Green Spade, Le Husk, Far East Flora and many more. There will even be talks and demos, hands-on workshops and a balcony garden showcase. Whatever your horticultural needs, expect to have them all covered in this one place.

Katong Square Lifestyle & Vintage Market (Nov 10)
A new month calls for a new Katong Square market, which, with its vinyl records and vintage goods, touts itself as Singapore’s only true blue vintage flea market. Resident booths include familiar names like The Retro Factory, Memory Lane and The Great Vinyl Exchange; but be sure to hit up the “casual booths” for preloved bargains.

Red Cross Sunday Sales (Nov 12)
If you enjoyed the International Bazaar organized by Singapore Red Cross (and the warm fuzzy feeling from indirectly giving back), head down to the organization’s upcoming Sunday Sales. Items on sale this time are a little less shiny and new—but you can expect pre-loved apparel, accessories, shoes, bags, books, and household items, all at bargain prices. The sales proceeds will go towards the Red Cross’ local humanitarian services, which include the Red Cross Home for the Disabled, FoodAid and ElderAid, among others.

Tribe x Music Market by Revision (Nov 19)
Revision Music’s music market is back for music lovers and collectors looking to stock up on merchandise. Swap your pre-loved vinyl and grab new physical releases (a dying pastime, for sure) from local labels and collectives, all while jamming out to a playlist of hip hop, reggae, rare groove, house and funk.

Katong Square Artisans Bazaar (Nov 24-26)
It’s random, it’s almost completely unheard of, but it’s a monthly artisan’s bazaar that happens every last weekend of the month. Two weeks after you’ve scoped out the flea at Katong Square, head back for knick-knacks and accessories like pouches, leather goods, and even vintage tiffin carriers.

Etsy Made Local 2017 (Nov 25-26)
Calling all ardent Etsy addicts—take your hours of trawling trinkets offline and into the real world, because Etsy Made Local is returning end November. In its second edition, the initiative was started to celebrate the crafters, collectors and artisans in local communities across Australia and Southeast Asia. Shop and support local Etsy sellers in this two-day pop-up market, and pick up some handmade and vintage goodies; just in time for your Christmas gifting.
