It’s that time of year again, where regular party folks like you are called upon to pick the hottest nightlife venues from party capitals across the world, and we have two candidates flying the Singapore flag. Plush rooftop joint Ce La Vi and every Singaporean’s rite of passage to nightlife Zouk have been shortlisted once again to enter the DJ Mag‘s worldwide poll to determine the Top 100 Clubs, alongside superclubs like Space Ibiza, Green Valley and Amnesia.
For the past seven years, Zouk has managed to retain its spot among the top 10 clubs, having moved up a spot to #6 last year. Now that they’ve finally moved into their Clarke Quay home with their “neo-industrial” treatment of the new space, with exposed bricks, twisted metal and open ceilings and a new, sick lighting system hovering over the spacious dancefloor, we wonder if that’ll be enough to overtake Seoul’s three-storey basement club, Octagon, the only other Asian one on the top 10 list. While the 26-year-old veteran is keeping it low-key this year, the relative fresh face Ce La Vi, which made its debut on the list at a humble #90, has been busy pushing out #VoteCLV, a social campaign rallying the troops to rake in the votes that will help elevate Singapore’s (and Ce La Vi’s) position on the world party map.
Your vote matters. Head over to DJ Mag’s website here and do what you gotta do. Voting ends Feb 17.
