Hide Yamamoto stretches out of Marina Bay into another waterside location over at the breezy Robertson Quay. Sure, it’s another fine dining establishment, but this time he’s serving traditional Kappo cuisine from Kyoto, a kaiseki menu that involves both raw and cooked dishes through frying, stewing and boiling. The zen wooden space, complete with a tempura counter, takes over the now-defunct Kappo Yorito, but still retains some of the restaurant’s concepts including the must-try duck consomme oden and homemade soba. While it does have a certain clinical and precise Japanese atmosphere, you’ll be able to dig in to six-course omakase lunches ($80) and eight- ($158), nine- ($238) and ten-course ($300-500) dinner sets. Definitely a place to reserve for those special ocassions.
