Modern day speakeasies are currently having a moment in the nightlife scene and the latest to jump on the bandwagon is new cocktail bar The Spiffy Dapper.Located on the second floor of a Boat Quay shophouse, the drinking spot takes inspiration from the 1920s Jazz Age. Rough around the edges and replete with vintage furnishings, the bar has an air of nostalgia in its modest space. And unlike certain exclusive establishments, The Spiffy Dapper takes pride in being unpretentious.In the same spirit of channeling an old-world charm, there are classic cocktails (from $18) like Old Fashioned and Manhattan on the drinks list, amongst fun concoctions like The Drug Cowboy and The Bee’s Knees Chassis. Beers are available, too, with prices starting from $10. A food menu of bar snacks is expected to be launched next month.
