Live music specialist Timbre Group recently opened blues bar Barber Shop by Timbre at The Arts House, just next door to Timbre @ The Arts House.
Anchored by a quality line-up of local bands like Raw Earth, Chicken Shack Revival and Soulvibin’, Barber Shop offers a repertoire of live blues, soul, funk and jazz music. On the drinks menu, highlights include premium whiskeys from Japan (from $18 per dram, $350 per bottle), Scotland (from $18 per dram, $250 per bottle), Ireland and the US (from $15 a dram, $250 per bottle). Beers, wines and other spirits are also available. If you’re feeling peckish, order up grub like sausage platters ($25), chicken wings ($13) and a range of tapas (from $13). This is one of the better venues to be if you wish to savor quality whiskey after work–the surprisingly smooth vibes here allow you to do just that.
The Timbre folks are currently still working on improving the interiors and menu for the bar, so expect more updates in the coming months. Apart from Barber Shop by Timbre, they have also teamed up with A Thousand Tales (of Bar Stories) for a restaurant-cafe OCF (short for Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt, Sir Stamford Raffles’ first wife), which soft opened earlier this week.
