This breezy seaside, sister restaurant of Marmalade Pantry has consistently delivered wonderful experiences in the decade it’s been around. Its front row Marina Bay seats offer the most tempting view, and we sat here to peruse Chef Robin Ho’s superbly scrumptious menu. Decisions made, but water and wine order forgotten by the staff, we decided we were better off inside after all. The décor is still contemporary chic in unadorned sand and stone tones but we were surprised that, at 8:45pm on a Saturday, the place was quiet with only three tables. Each morsel was art to the eye and a skilful blend of delicious flavors. Much to our annoyance, the mains arrived too quickly. But once again chef’s talents shone with a beautiful pan roasted sole. The servings were generous so we only ordered the ginger pudding with apples in yoghurt; it was divine. With food this good, it is a shame the service was out of sync and the ambiance so sleepy; otherwise we would have given it four stars. Chef Ho deserves better.*Note: New menu.
