Prepare for a galactic adventure as Science Centre Singapore hosts the annual “May the 4th” celebration for the first time ever, in commemoration of Star Wars Day.
The celebrations are part of the Centre’s Sci-Fi Fiesta (May 1 to 5) as it brings guests on a science-tastic adventure through the lens of science-fiction elements and engaging hands-on activities.
The event is organised by #MayThe4thSG, a group of Star Wars fans who curate all things Star Wars by bringing together a community of fans to celebrate the day together while being a force for good at the same time.
Key event highlights include Star Wars costumed fans; Build-a-Lightsaber Workshop where guests can learn to build lightsabers using everyday household materials; and Fightsaber Academy for kids 12 years and below where they can hone their lightsaber skills. Other activities include Toy Photography workshops and bounty hunts.
Exclusive “May the 4th Be With You” merchandise will also be available for purchase where all proceeds go to charity. Admission to “May The 4th” event is complimentary and will be held at the Annexe Foyer, Science Centre Singapore.
Beyond Star Wars, visitors can invoke their sense of wonder and imagination as Sci-Fi Fiesta breaks down the “science” in science-fiction. Journey through three exciting stations designed to ignite curiosity about science fiction and its connection to real-world science and innovation.
Find out more about fascinating organisms that look like they came straight out of a sci-fi movie at Terrestrial or Extraterrestrial?; unleash your inner engineer at Build Your Own Space Vehicle; and learn about the science behind light reflection and lenticular lenses at The Invisibility Shields. These activities are complimentary with purchase of Science Centre Singapore admission tickets.
