Revolutionary Model Play 2.0

Unfolding live onstage through the innovative use of cameras and video projections, this documentary-style performance examines the cultural and artistic significance of Madam Mao (wife of Mao Zediong)’s Revolutionary Model Plays, which combines traditional Chinese opera with patriotic storylines. Eight different languages will be employed to explore existential questions about art, culture and representation.

Smriti Padha (Memory Route)

This dance performance is inspired by the story of  Dussasana Vadham (The Slaying of Dussasana), and centers on the struggle for sovereignty between India’s rival Pandava and Kaurava clans. This is presented by Santha Bhaskar, with dancers from Kerala Kalamandalam and Bhaskar’s Arts Academy, and performed in Sanskrit and Malayalam with English subtitles. 

The Kingdom of Splendour

A rapturous collection of works by emerging Chinese contemporary artist Wan Tai Feng can be found here, which depicts various rare animals set in alternate fantasy worlds. 

Clean Bandit 2015

England-based four-piece band Clean Bandit performs here for the first time, bringing their rocking sound which fuses elements of both classical and dance music, cued from their latest album New Eyes.

The Macallan Rare Cask Experience

This interactive exhibition takes participants’ through the history of Macallan’s sherry seasoned oak casks and how they are produced. There is also an opportunity to try the much sought-after whiskey.
