This partner event of design week is the first of its kind in Asia and focuses on Asian designers, bringing together designers, collectors, galleries, curators, critics and industry people, provides a platform for collaborations across genres spanning architecture, interior and even jewelry.
Affordable Art Fair: Spring Edition
This popular art fair returns with galleries from all over the world offering an extensive range of contemporary art, with prints and paintings priced from $100 to $10,000. Visitors can also look forward to hands-on activities such as live art demonstrations, artist talks and multi-disciplinary workshops in sculpture-making, watercolor and photography. Design Trails 2015
This Design Trail shuttle service kicks off at National Design Centre and travels all around the city. Expect to be taken to design-related places and hidden spots you never knew existed.
Motherlanz Music Festival 2015
This Anzac Day festival commemorates all things Australia and New Zealand, where there will be music, comedy, food stalls, games and live coverage of Anzac Day Rugby, Rugby League and AFL. The music lineup will feature Ian Moss, The Jordan Luck Band, Tiki Taane and Ash Grunwald. Tickets are available at $115 here.
Layers of Light
Lighting design studio Nipek transforms the main entrance of the National Design Centre with traditional Japanese washi paper. This interactive installation plays with light and shadow, and is lit by daylight during the day but by LED lamps after dark.
Artists Imagine a Nation
This exhibtion comprises some 80 pieces of work from 36 artists, with some dating back to 1930s. These figurative works represents the views locals have of Singapore in the last eight decades.
Sekali Cats
Fierce all-female spoken word group Sekaliwags perform at a cat cafe, surrounded by adorable rescues. The show is already sold out, but checking in on their Facebook page may yield positive results.
Punked Out!
On this night, rock out to Pop/Punk beats from the likes of local bands Sign of Five, JJ and the Paperplanes and Orangecove. Entry is free.
From Noon Till Night
Local electronica bands Fzpz and MXNDKRFT will perform among intricate graphite-on-paper pieces by local artist Dawn Ang at this all-day, all-night show.
3D Printing Exhibition at NUS
This exhibition will showcase 3D-printed objects and the various applications of this emerging new technology.
