Hold up—we’ve officially entered the final quarter of 2018. How, we’re not sure. But at least with it comes the blessing of Oktoberfest; a distraction while we work towards hitting those KPIs before the year ends. Knock back a pint and chow down on some tasty meats at the following places to celebrate our favourite German festival.

Escape the city’s hustle and bustle at this casual poolside restaurant with a picturesque view of the Singapore River. From now till Oct 15, Blue Potato is offering a hearty Oktoberfest menu, at a heartwarmingly affordable price. Tuck into traditional grilled bratwurst with sauerkraut and three different varieties of German sausages ($18), or go for the crispy roasted pork knuckle with mash, sauerkraut and gravy ($34). If you prefer chicken, there’s also the classic chicken wiener schnitzel ($30), a golden crispy fried chicken. End your meal on a sweet note with the national desserts of Austria, including apple strudel ($12) and sachertorte ($12), a chocolate cake with whipped cream. 2/F, Swissotel Merchant Court, 20 Merchant Rd.

All about bringing authentic German experiences to Singapore, Brotzeit leads the pack with month-long (and beyond) Oktoberfest celebrations. Across their outlets, order up sharing platters like the stuffed pork belly ($69), meter long sausage ($39) and their massive Oktoberfest platter ($138) consisting of pork knuckles, honey ribs, roast chicken and sausage. You can also try the traditional pretzel with a grilled nurnberger sausage ($15). If you love a good full-bodied beer, give their Marzenbier a go—made specifically for Oktoberfest, this exclusive beer has a fine hoppy aroma with a slightly sweet finish. Don’t forget to join in on the season finale at Vivocity from Oct 18-21, where international Oktoberfest entertainers AnTon & The Funny Guys will provide live music and solid entertainment. #01-149/151, VivoCity, 1 HarbourFront Walk.

We get it. The outdoor festival atmosphere has great vibes, but Singapore’s weather can be a real mood killer. Over at Bugis, keep your cool in a fully air-conditioned marquee at Oktoberfest Asia 2018, happening Oct 18-21. With ticket prices from $63 per person, enjoy a variety of free-flow beers from German breweries Paulaner Brauhaus, Bitburger, Weihenstephan and Benediktiner; a German food platter consisting of roast pork knuckle, crispy pork porchetta, veal, pork and chicken sausage by Shiso is also available at an additional $20. If you’ve had your fill of the regular taps (will you ever, though?), move on to the special festival beers brewed exclusively for this event. Alternatively, splurge on a VIP ticket ($154) that includes a special Oktoberfest buffet menu with traditional entrees and desserts such as beer-brined chicken, meatballs and apple strudels. Singapore’s only German microbrewery and restaurant will certainly be joining in on the celebrations as well from Oct 10-21. Across these dates, Paulaner Brauhaus will be having authentic 2- or 3-course Oktoberfest platters ($68 per person) that feature the full works, with options ranging from pork knuckles, breaded chicken, schnitzels, bratwursts, and meatloaves. The games here are pretty intense too—so grab your most competitive friends and take part in their beer holding and beer chugging competitions. A night of drinking, dancing and singing promised (tip: come dressed in your Dirndls and Lederhosens for maximum fun). #01-01, Millenia Walk, 9 Raffles Blvd.

For those feeling a little bougie (but not really), celebrate Oktoberfest either at The Fullerton Hotel on Oct 13, or at The Fullerton Hotel Post Bar on Oct 20, where $14 Erdinger beers will be available all night. At the Post Bar, tickets start from as low as $10 (including one beer). As with all Oktoberfest parties, you’re encouraged to dress up for a chance to win prizes, and it comes at no surprise that games and live music will be abundant. Prost, mein freund! 1 Fullerton Sq.
