There’s a plethora of places you can catch the NDP fireworks from, even from HDB rooftop gardens (see our recommended list here). But if you prefer something much fancier, somewhere you can wine and dine on National Day itself with a side serving of fireworks, here are 12 places you can consider spending the evening.
1919 Waterboat House

If you’re looking for a casual yet intimate spot to sit back, drink wine and spend quality time with friends and family, the 1919 Waterboat House is a good spot to consider. A three hour bottomless alfresco dinner featuring French wines and European cuisine awaits, at $130 per person. Otherwise, if you’re only there to enjoy the fireworks, a cover charge of $40 nett including one welcome drink is an option too. More information on the restaurant’s offer can be found here. #03-01 The Waterboathouse, 3 Fullerton Rd.
Bar Rouge

Take in the whooping sights overlooking Marina Bay from the 71st floor at Shanghai-inspired Bar Rouge, where Singapore slings will be going at $20, and every purchase entitles you to a complimentary tote bag with a limited edition design. Groove to the funky disco tunes by DJs Aurora and Kane Ian at Disco Lah! while watching the sky light up with fireworks. 71/F Swissotel The Stamford, 2 Stamford Rd.
Ce La Vi

I think we all agree we miss our childhood times when we only had to (sometimes) study and could play around. Head up to Marina Bay Sand’s rooftop bar and take part in Ce La Vi’s Majulah! National Day Fiesta where there will be nostalgic games such as chapteh, five stones, hopscotch and old maid set up for your enjoyment. Probably the closest you’ll get to the fireworks without being at the actual parade, you’ll be right smack in the thick of action. Tickets can be bought at $28 here and includes one drink. 57/F Marina Bay Sands Tower 3, 1 Bayfront Ave.
The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore

This hotel needs no introduction, for both The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore have some of the most picturesque restaurants in town. Running up to National Day, catch the fireworks from The Clifford Pier, where local establishments such as Creamier and Craft Varies will be present. Two special drinks will be available as well: Sing by the Bay, a vodka-based orange cocktail, and Singapore’s Heartbeat, a sweet apple and lime juice based mocktail. The Heritage Dinner Buffet is priced at $58 per person for National Day previews, inclusive of access to the al fresco viewing area. A National Day Seafood Buffet will also be available at $128 per person on the day itself. The full list of offerings across all their restaurants can be found here. Graffiti Sky Bar

An alternative to squeezing with the crowds at Marina Bay, the Graffiti Sky Bar is located at Tanjong Pagar on the rooftop of Carlton City Hotel. Though it seems slightly further away from the action, fireworks can still be seen as the views are largely unobstructed. Feast on their special National Day local buffet downstairs at Plate (with a live stream of the parade) going at $53 per person before heading up to sip on some cocktails while enjoying the sunset and fireworks. 22/F Carlton City Hotel, 1 Gopeng St.
Kinki

Perhaps typical classy and stylish places aren’t your thing. If so, try Kinki: this urban bar overlooking the Marina Bay waterfront will be serving up a bottomless brunch in the day, and rooftop packages at night. With floor murals and a graffiti-ed DJ console, this is the place that defies traditions. So if you’ve got some moolah to spare and you want to celebrate NDP somewhere edgier, drop by this funky Japanese inspired bar for some good times. Up on the penthouse level of Marina Bay Financial Centre, enjoy two specially curated platters while viewing the fireworks: the Singapore Platter with reinvented classics and the Chef’s Selection of local delights. Indulge in two half-pint beers at $25, or toast to the festive season with Rothschild Champagne available at $50 for two glasses. #33-01 Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 1, Marina Blvd.

We know these rooftop heights don’t sit well with some of you. Set right at the edge of Fullerton Bay, Monti at 1-Pavilion allows for clear views of the fireworks without the obstruction of skyscrapers. Minimum charge is applied at this sleek establishment, so be prepared to spend about $268 including champagne in the restaurant. More information here. 82 Collyer Quay

Set on top of National Gallery Singapore, this warmly-lit rooftop bar boasts spectacular views of Singapore’s skyline. As part of their National Day Rooftop Soiree, diners can tuck into a local buffet including two drinks at an early bird pricing of $53 per person. Super affordable for a National Day special, we think. If the celebration vibes are strong, choose to add free-flow juices and wines for an additional $35 per person. #06-01 National Gallery Singapore, 1 St. Andrew’s Rd.
Super Loco Customs House

Granted—it isn’t a must to eat local food just because it’s National Day. If you’re into partying like the Mexicans, head on over Super Loco Customs House from 5.30-8.30pm as they hold a buffet of Mexican bites. Get into the fiesta mood with local DJ KFC (Keith Colaco) as he spins up some latino beats along the Marina Bay waterfront, and finally look forward to the destruction of a durian-shaped pinata to guarantee you a smashing good time. A special Miss Joaquim cocktail will also be available at $22. Tickets to the event is at $120 per adult, and can be purchased here. #01-04 Customs House, 70 Collyer Quay
Urbana
If you’re lazy to travel all the way down south, this hotel located near town might be suitable. Perched on the top of the hotel, rooftop bar Urbana will be offering a 53% discount on certain locally-inspired dishes and bar bites, such as the Singapore Chilli Crab Pizza and Pork and Pineapple Satay from Aug 5-12. They will also be serving up their signature cocktail Chocoloco, which is basically an alcoholic milo dinosaur (ooh). 33/F Courtyard by Marriott Singapore Novena, 99 Irrawaddy Rd.
