50 local fresh produce stalls to check out at this year’s Singapore Farm Festival farmers’ market

You’d think farming was almost a lost art here in Singapore; but thankfully initiatives like the Singapore Farm Festival keep the agricultural spirit alive and kicking. 2017 marks the 11th edition of the annual festival, and to celebrate, the Kranji Countryside Association is holding their quarterly Farmers’ Market in tandem.

From Dec 2-3, look forward to 50 stalls of local farm fresh produce, artisanal farm-to-table food and gifts, as well as live entertainment, exhibitions and hands-on activities like pottery, dough-making, archery and prawning. Priding themselves on being the only genuine farmers’ market in Singapore, the Kranji Countryside Farmers’ Market will showcase farmpreneurs whose wares are lovingly home-grown and brought direct to consumers—like fresh oysters from local oyster farm Sea Farmers at Ubin. All other food vendors have been asked to use fresh produce sourced directly from local farmers too.

The festival aims to celebrate all things local and Singapore’s unique farming heritage—a good enough reason to hop on a shuttle bus (from Kranji MRT Berth 3) and make it down to the countryside.

The Singapore Farm Festival 2017 x 11th Kranji Countryside Farmers’ Market happens Dec 2-3, 12-8pm (Dec 2), 10am-4pm (Dec 3) at D’Kranji Farm Resort, 10 Neo Tiew Lane 2. Admission is free and more information here.
