Calling all ginheads—the months of beer and beerfests are over; your time is now. Gin Jubilee, Asia’s premier gin festival, is back for its fifth edition. From Nov 27-Dec 3, tonic water maker East Imperial will wrap up the last leg of Gin Jubilee on our shores, after a regional tour stopping at Kuala Lumpur, Phnom Penh, Hong Kong and Shanghai (the festival’s latest addition).

G&T fans will be pleased to know that the festival’s focus lies in creating and celebrating innovative variations of the classic Gin & Tonic. Expect a series of gin-related activities, from masterclasses to pop-ups, gin rambles, tastings, and the hotly anticipated Gin Lane street parties, taking place across various venues and bars.

Participating bars last year included Tippling Club, 28 HongKong Street and Manhattan Bar, and you can expect this year’s entries to be just as good. Top-name brands such as Gin Mare, Hendrick’s Gin and Bombay Sapphire will partner 2017’s event; while crowd-favorite boutique brands like Fords Gin and The Botanist will be participating to provide unique new flavor profiles too.

The jubilee will also pit more than 110 top bars from the region to compete against each other for the coveted title of “Asia’s Best Gin & Tonic”—which is where the unique G&T renditions come in. Last year’s regional prize went to local bartender Lexis Tan from Red Tail Bar, for her violet-hued Bombay Sapphire and Burma tonic cocktail. As the last stop on the Gin Jubilee tour, Singapore will host the grand finale; the pressure is certainly on to remain defending champion.
